Macau Legend Leads the Opening of New Casinos in Africa
When it comes to gambling and casinos, there are certain cities and territories that instantly come to mind. Macau in China, Las Vegas and Atlantic City in the United States, and Monte Carlo and London in Europe are often the most popular gambling cities. The common perception is that Europe and the Americas are the thriving hubs for casino gaming, with Asia not far behind. Although these are the most popular among enthusiasts and operators, gambling and casinos also thrive in other parts of the world, Africa included. The casino industry in Africa brings in more than $2 billion in revenues, with the gambling action focused primarily in South Africa, Kenya and Nigeria. It is in South Africa that the bulk of the casino action happens, followed by Kenya and then Nigeria. The combined gambling revenues in Africa may pale in comparison compared to other regions, but it is expected to climb with the planned construction and operations of new offline casinos in Africa.
